World pays tribute to Cuban National Hero, Jose Marti

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro evoked the Apostle of Cuban independence, Jose Marti, on the 171st anniversary of his birth.

We celebrate the life of the man who was a passionate defender of Bolivarian thought, a great writer, intellectual and politician, admired in the world for his honesty, sensitivity and commitment to the cause of the people, the president wrote on X.

Also on the same social network, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, affirmed on Sunday that the Bolivarian Revolution "proudly continues to uphold the legacy of Jose Marti".

As a reminder that, even in the midst of adversities, we can continue transforming the world, the diplomat said.

Other tributes to Martí took place in different countries. Cubans living in Ecuador joined in Quito in a baseball game in homage to the birthday of the Cuban National Hero and against the U.S. blockade on the island.

In the Guangüiltagua Metropolitan Park, in Quito, Cubans and their families shared on Sunday a day of return to their roots, with a game of the national sport of the Caribbean nation, which was also joined by Venezuelan residents in Ecuadorian territory.

The activity was part of the call made by the Bridges of Love project, led by Cuban-American professor Carlos Lazo, to remember the 171st anniversary of the birth of the Apostle and insist on the need to put an end to Washington's coercive measures against the Caribbean nation.

Cuba in El Salvador celebrated the hope of the world, the children, on the 171st anniversary of the birth of the apostle Jose Marti.

An emotional and varied activity at the diplomatic headquarters of Cuba in El Salvador brought together dozens of children of Salvadorans and children of Cuban residents born in El Salvador, members of the solidarity movement with the island and graduates of different centers of island studies, who honored Marti and his thought.

This year we decided to celebrate the date in this way and we are really impressed by the great response and the large number of children who came and sang everything, the Guantanamera which includes the Versos sencillos of the Cuban national hero, and then remember him with different activities such as traditional games of the island, a puppet show and an exhibition of paintings, among others.
