The Meliá Trinidad Peninsula Hotel was awarded the National Prize for Energy Efficiency in the services and tourism sector.

The award was granted by the National Office for the Control of the Rational Use of Energy (Onure), an agency attached to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, an official press release indicates.

The statement that the award highlights the results achieved in the implementation of solutions for the efficient use of energy, the integration of renewable sources and the commitment to environmental protection.

The Meliá Trinidad Peninsula is an all-inclusive five-star hotel located in the vicinity of the historial town in south-central Cuba, with the best preserved colonial architecture in the country.

The award ceremony was presided over by the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and the Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente de la O Levy, the release adds.

This award fills us with pride and commits us to continue working under the approach of using advances in science and technology to achieve rational energy management, Meliá Trinidad Peninsula’s General Director, Juan Pereira, said.
