In the context of the Francophonie Month in Cuba, the French company Bakhus plans to hold a panel discussion today on the influence of hip hop in contemporary dance.
The event will be held at the headquarters of the Alliance Française (AF) located on Paseo del Prado, starting at 4:00 p.m. local time. During this gathering, the group will showcase its unique style and share its latest dance productions, as well as highlight their current work around the world.
Bakhus will also be in an unparalleled performance on March 15 with the work “Gaia 2.0,” this time at 19:00 local time, with four men interacting on the stage of the National Theater of Cuba to deliver here a mix of breakdance, with the most modern of world dance.
Considered masters of contemporary dance, the members of Bakhus will present an incomparable show in Cuba with seven creations and 400 performances worldwide.
The group has established itself as one of the leading companies in the new French dance scene. Their most recent show, ‘Gaïa 2.0’, aims to explore the impact of technological advances on our daily lives, examining the relationship between ‘natural man’ and ‘augmented man.’
The objective is to raise public awareness that we are living through a new technological revolution that is evolving very rapidly and, for better or worse, it is in the process of disrupting economic, social and political models, as reportedly stated.
Gaïa 2.0, which combines hip-hop dance, circus and music, conveys a brilliant message supported by inventive, spectacular and precise dance in a sensational video, the institution commented.
