Cuba works to reorganize private transport services

Cuba's Prime Minister Manuel Marrero assured that actions are underway to reorganize transport services of non-state management, according to local media.
Cuban authorities hope that the private sector “will continue to support passenger transportation, but without imposing abusive prices”, according to Marrero’s speech in the balance of the Ministry of Transportation’s management during 2024.
That was one of the claims of the head of government, who asked the leaders of the sector “to continue looking for solutions for the good of the population and the economy”, according to the newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde in their printed editions.
“It is unacceptable that a state vehicle does not pick up people at the bus stops, and therefore we must demand and adopt measures against those who do not comply with this provision,” he stressed.
He also stressed that despite the lack of fuel, foreign currency and material resources, “a great effort has been made to guarantee the minimum passenger and cargo transportation services, so that the country and the economy do not come to a standstill”.
