Cuban Communist Party to analyze key issues on the public agenda

The 8th Plenary Session of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) will analyze this week as key issues food production and the fight against corruption, crime, illegalities and social indiscipline, the political party highlighted on X.

At the meeting, which will take place next Friday and Saturday, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee will also give an account of its management in the period since the previous plenary session, in December 2023.

According to the announcement, the topics to be discussed are in line with the duty of the Communist Party of Cuba to bring its agenda closer and closer to the public agenda of the country.

Both issues, the document reads, are affected by the tightened U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade and, therefore, its consequences impact on the prosperity of the Cuban population.

It added that these are matters that more than once the country's leadership has described as matters of national security, since their stability offers guarantees for the gradual recovery of national life.
