The Cambodian People's Party and the United Russia Party pledged to work together to address common challenges and strengthen ties between Moscow and Phnom Penh.

The agreement emerged after an exchange of letters between the president of the Russian party, Dmitry Medvedev, and the president of the Cambodian People’s Party and the Cambodian Senate, Hun Sen.

Medvedev praised Hun Sen as a staunch advocate for deepening Cambodian-Russian relations, based on mutual trust and friendship, and stressed on the importance of fostering dialogue between the two organizations.

Hun Sen responded with a message of thanks and reaffirmed the close ties between the two countries and their shared vision for cooperation.

Cambodia and Russia maintain a strong strategic partnership, characterized by extensive cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, logistics, and the military sector.
