Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received Vietnam’s Minister of Justice, Nguyen Hai Ninh, today, describing his visit to Cuba as very important. During the visit, the two officials signed a Technical Assistance agreement.

The meeting took place at the Palace of the Revolution, the seat of Cuba’s executive branch. The president highlighted the historical ties that unite the communist parties, governments, and peoples of both nations, forged over 65 years of diplomatic relations set to be celebrated in December.

According to a statement published on the Cuban Presidency’s official website, the head of state emphasized the Technical Assistance agreement signed by the justice ministers of Vietnam and Cuba, Nguyen Hai Ninh and Oscar Silveira, which strengthens the already excellent relationship in this sector.

Díaz-Canel stressed that both Ministries of Justice have broad opportunities to exchange experiences regarding the processes of legal norm creation and the application of laws within societies building socialism.

The Vietnamese minister expressed gratitude to President Díaz-Canel for the courtesy of receiving him and described the visit’s objectives—focused on experience exchange and signing the agreement—as satisfactorily achieved.
