With these data, at the end of this October 1, six thousand 408 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: four thousand 738 under surveillance, one thousand 154 suspects and 516 confirmed.
Durán pointed out that this Thursday were detected 48 new cases in all the molecular biology laboratories after studying 7,545 samples. The general figure reached 628,725 real-time PCR analyzed in almost seven months of pandemic in the national territory.
Of the 48 confirmed, 43 are Cubans, the other five, foreigners temporarily residing in the country. There were not deaths and Cuba maintains the number of 122 deaths due to Covid-19, he said.
The epidemiologist stressed that 38 were asymptomatic at the time of applying the PCR, which already represents 60.9 percent of all those diagnosed in Cuba.
He emphasized once again the care of minors because yesterday 10 patients of pediatric age tested positive for Covid-19, with which, the country reaches 625 people in that age group who have suffered from SARS-CoV-2, of them, 528 already recovered.
Of the 516 active cases, 510 have a stable clinical course, while one is critical and five are severe, Durán reported.
Duran said that September was the month with the most cases reported with the new coronavirus in the largest of the Antilles (1,605).
Faced with several questions from the international press about the measures announced in recent days for the Cuban capital, Durán stressed that Havana continues in the phase of limited autochthonous transmission and said transformations only represent a relaxation of the parameters established for that stage.
'As the days go by, we will continue evaluating these measures and the behavior of the disease, but social distancing, mandatory use of the face mask, disinfection of places and other care remains unchanged,' he said.
He highlighted that seven Cuban provinces and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud demonstrated that, following health protocols, chains of contagion can be contained, since many of those territories have not reported cases for more than 15 days and some for up to two months.
Cuba, with 5,718 patients with Covid-19 in almost seven months of Covid-19 presence on the island, ranks 117th in the world and 21st in the Americas.
