Havana, Jul 28 (Prensa Latina) The members of the 32nd Pastors for Peace Friendshipment Caravan visited the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, dedicated to the study of the life and work of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Rene Gonzalez, director of the Center, welcomed the visitors and asserted that Pastors for Peace is a great sister family for Cuba and its work represents the nobility of the American people.

“Remembering Lucius Walker is remembering Fidel,” he said.

For her part, the leader of the inter-religious organization, Gail Walker, described the Center as a sacred place full of peace and spirituality, as well as assured that it is a privilege to have a place in the world to, in addition to honoring, meet the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Walker stressed that Cuba is not alone, as it has many friends in the world, including in the United States, which is why, he said, “we have a very special responsibility towards Cuba and we must counteract all the lies and misinformation of our government and the media about it.”

The most important message we could send to Cuba, she said, is that we are not going to abandon it and “we will continue to come no matter how difficult it is, how many restrictions our government imposes and even if there is a pandemic.”

Regarding a new brigade announced on Wednesday that we will provide material support to Cuban medical facilities, Gail Walker explained that the idea was born from Cuba’s solidarity actions in this area, such as the granting of scholarships and the medical brigades deployed abroad.

She pointed out that the pastors are aware of the obstacles that Washington imposes on the island to acquire spare parts, water pumps and other equipment.

The current edition of the Pastors for Peace caravans arrived in Cuba last week to participate in the celebrations for the National Rebellion Day, whose main event took place in the city of Cienfuegos on Tuesday.
