Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco and Nguyen Nguyen, director of the Department of Publishing, Printing, and Distribution in Vietnam, assessed in this capital on Tuesday the wide possibilities for promoting bilateral publishing cooperation.
We can do a lot together in this sector, where there is a world to develop,” stated Polanco, who received, at the headquarters of the Cuban State Mission, Nguyen and the Vietnamese delegation that will attend the 33rd Havana International Book Fair (FIL).
The Cuban ambassador emphasized that 2025 is the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year and the 65th founding anniversary of their diplomatic relations, so “we need to have publishing projects to recall this important commemoration.”
Referring to the FIL, the Cuban diplomat stressed that this is one of the leading cultural events in Cuba, not only because of the large foreign participation but also because of the massive popular participation, both in its leading venue in Havana and the country’s other provinces.
Polanco praised Vietnam’s publishing production capacity and commented that there are high expectations that a Vietnamese delegation will attend the literary event again this year to help consolidate relations in this sector.
The 33rd edition of the Havana International Book Fair will take place at the Morro-Cabaña Historical-Military Park from February 13 to 23, under the premise of Marti, “To read is to grow.”
