The president of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, announced Sunday that the Great Patriotic Pole Simón Bolívar (GPPSB) coalition won 280 mayoral seats in the Municipal Elections, providing an overview of the results after 82.45 percent of polling stations had been counted.

According to the electoral authority, voter turnout surpassed 44 percent of registered voters, projected to 100 percent transmission, representing 6,273,531 voters.

CNE President Amoroso stated that the elections marked yet another example of democratic deepening, as this was the country’s 33rd election and the first National Popular Youth Consultation.

“Thank you, Venezuelan youth, for setting an example for the world,” Amoroso said, expressing gratitude for the civic behavior of voters and to those who directed and safeguarded the electoral process and materials, crediting them for the success of the vote.

Amoroso noted that 1,490 national and international observers participated in the election. “Their presence was essential to the process, witnessing how a peace-loving people went out to vote for their municipal authorities in compliance with articles 174 and 175 of the Constitution,” he highlighted.

“Out of the 335 mayoral positions up for election, 304 have been awarded with an irreversible trend, representing 90.74 percent of the total. Of the 2,402 municipal council seats, 2,182 have been awarded with irreversible results, representing 90.84 percent of the vote,” Amoroso stated.

Among key municipalities with irreversible trends:

  • In Libertador (Caracas), the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) won 86.44 percent

  • In Chacao, 81.11 percent went to Fuerza Vecinal

  • In Baruta, Fuerza Vecinal received 56.2 percent

  • In El Hatillo, Movimiento Ecológico de Venezuela won with 64.01 percent

  • In Sucre, PSUV took 86.02 percent

In the state of Anzoátegui:

  • In Simón Bolívar (Barcelona), PSUV won 90.86 percent

  • In Sotillo (Puerto la Cruz), PSUV secured 86.82 percent

  • In Urbaneja (Lechería), Fuerza Vecinal obtained 66.45 percent

Other significant results include:

  • In San Fernando (Apure), PSUV won with 95.82 percent

  • In Girardot (Maracay, Aragua), PSUV gained 88.44 percent

  • In Barinas (capital of Barinas state), PSUV secured 85.90 percent

  • In Angostura del Orinoco (Bolívar), PSUV achieved 87.19 percent

  • In Valencia (Carabobo), PSUV took 88.64 percent

  • In San Diego (Carabobo), Fuerza Vecinal won with 59.19 percent

Further victories included:

  • Ezequiel Zamora (Cojedes), Alexander Mireles of Vamos Cojedes

  • Miranda (Falcón), Henry Hernández of PSUV

  • Juan Germán Roscio (Guárico), Katherine Guanipa of PSUV

  • Iribarren (Lara), Yanys Aguero of PSUV

  • Libertador (Mérida), Nelson León of PSUV

In Miranda state:

  • Guaicaipuro was won by Farith Fraija of PSUV

  • Los Salias went to Edgar Laya of Movimiento de Integridad Nacional Unida

In Monagas:

  • Maturín was taken by Ana Fuentes of PSUV

In Nueva Esparta:

  • Arismendi was won by Alí Romero of PSUV

  • Plácido Maneiro by Morel Rodríguez of Fuerza Vecinal

  • Santiago Mariño by Eneas González of PSUV

Additional PSUV victories include:

  • Guanare (Portuguesa), Óscar Noboa

  • Sucre municipality (Sucre), Pedro Figueroa

  • San Cristóbal (Táchira), Silfredo Zambrano

  • Trujillo municipality (Trujillo), Carlos Terán

  • San Felipe (Yaracuy), Roger Daza

  • Maracaibo (Zulia), Giancarlo Di Martino

  • Atures (Amazonas), Kissi Amaro

  • Tucupita (Delta Amacuro), Asnardo Rodríguez

  • Vargas (La Guaira), José Suárez

These results reflect a broad consolidation of local power by the PSUV across much of the country.
