President Miguel Díaz-Canel reaffirmed that Cuba will continue strengthening relations with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC), from which it has been an observer since December 2020.

Díaz-Canel’s statements came during a meeting with Sergei Glazyev, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics at the EAEC, at the Palace of the Revolution, the Presidency of the Republic published on its X account.

Glazyev expressed his gratitude for all the support provided by Cuba, a strategic and faithful country with which the Commission coincides in economic and political positions.

Glazyev is visiting Havana to participate in the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission between the EAEC and Cuba.

In the framework of this meeting, the parties reassured their willingness to further expand economic and trade relations and encourage investment projects in strategic sectors.

Since December 2020, Cuba has been an Observer State of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
