Cuban Authorities Analyze Socioeconomic Requirements in Havana

The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, met today with authorities in the capital to evaluate results of the implementation of agreements and work priorities of the organization.

The party leader will also visit socioeconomic entities in Havana with the objective of evaluating food production, actions to correct distortions and boost the economy, as well as identified social problems.

Morales began his tour at the Casino Deportivo Organopónico, an entity dedicated to the production of vegetables as cucumber, radish, beans, chard and condiments.

According to a report by the Cuban News Agency, he is also expected to visit the Cuban International Tobacco Company, the Organopónico of the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana and The Little Fish neighborhood in transformation, located in the municipality of Boyeros.

On Wednesday, the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, and Vice President Salvador Valdés held a meeting with authorities in Havana to analyze the socioeconomic situation of the territory.

During the meeting, Lazo insisted on the importance of paying attention to the energy situation of the Caribbean country and called for measures to achieve a rational use of energy.

For his part, the vice president stressed the need to reorganize work in the state sector, to maximize savings during hours of high consumption.
