The 3rd Central American Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba to be held coming week in Honduras aims at condemning the U.S. blockade against Cuba, a member of its organizing committee announced on Friday.
In statements to Prensa Latina, activist Gonzalo Valerio explained that the Tegucigalpa encounter will include four panels and several working tables. The first of them will be centered on the over 60-year U.S. blockade’s impact and the regional movement to call for its immediate cessation.
Among the 150 delegates to the forum, Cuba’s Hero Ramon Labañino, current vice president of Cuba’s National Association of Economists and Accountants, will lead the second panel on collaborative projects and actions to counteract Washington’s hostile policy.
A third panel will be dedicated to Cuba as a territory of peace despite U.S. interference, which illegally occupies part of its territory in the Guantanamo Naval Base.
The fourth one will pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro on his 97th birth anniversary, in addition to addressing current regional situation of the anti-imperialist struggle.
The meeting will be opened by Honduran President Xiomara Castro, and will include a Final Statement to be approved in plenary.
