It has been reportedly known that an alternative copy with a more universal script will be screened in Spain. The film is a free version of Meñique, a story by Cuban National Hero José Martí after Poucinet by French writer, Edouard Laboulaye. Meñique tells the story of a young and short peasant who gets involved in an adventurous journey to get the hand of Princes Denise, with the motto "knowledge is stronger than strength". With a script is by Cuba’s Ernesto Padrón, the animated film is a co-production by the Cuban Film Institute’s Animated Film Studios and Ficción Producciones from Galicia, Spain.
