Piña Colada Festival in Cuba includes music and traditions
especiales

The 22nd edition of the Piña Colada Music Festival, to be held in central Ciego de Avila province from April 1 to 6, will include an extensive program of Cuban music and traditions.
As a feature, the largest cultural event in central Cuba proposes the First International Meeting of History, Culture and Traditions, “El Aguila de la Trocha,” in northern Ciego de Avila’s Moron municipality.
The Piña Colada traditionally celebrates the anniversaries of the Young Communist League (UJC) and the Jose Marti Young Pioneers’ Organization (OPJM); this time, it also commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first crossing of the Trocha from Jucaro to Moron (a fortified military line) by mambi troops commanded by Generalissimo Maximo Gomez during Cuba’s war of independence against Spanish rule.
The event will pay tribute to musicians Jesus Lacerda and Severino Wilson.
The concerts of fusion, alternative, and contemporary music, the Music and Youth Symposium, the “Latir Avileño” cultural crusade, the Pineapple Festival, and the meeting of “Coravila” vocal groups are among the leading proposals of this 2025 edition.
