Governor of Saint Petersburg Meets with Cuban Ambassador

Gueorgui Poltavchenko, governor of Saint Petersburg met with Cuban Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Emilio Lozada, who carried out an official visit to this region to participate at Saint Petersburg Economic Forum.

During the cordial meeting, Poltavchenko reiterated the interest to reestablish the ties of cooperation with Havana and Santiago de Cuba and expressed the willingness to re-open a permanent representation of Cuba in this city. To this purpose, the Governor proposed the creation of a working group aiming to explore and identify different areas of cooperation with the Caribbean island.

Cuban Ambassador conveyed an invitation to Poltavchenko to visit Cuba and ratified the compromise to join the efforts to re-launch the excellent relations that existed between Saint Petersburg, Havana and Santiago de Cuba.
