Six countries confirmed for Cuban wrestling tournament

Granma-Cerro Pelado International Wrestling Tournament will begin tomorrow in this city with the confirmation of more than 50 competitors from six countries, and the presence of major Cuban athletes.
Luis de la Portilla, national commissioner of the sport, told the press it's already official the presence of Brazil, Dominica Republic, Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador and Puerto Rico, which will attend the competition essentially with wrestlers qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
He added that Cuba will be represented by its best exponents, as Mijail Lopez, 130 kilograms, five times monarch of the world and owner of two titles in summer events.
De la Portilla noted that the ten Cubans qualified to Rio, five in each style, will also be present in the event, based at the Sports City Coliseum until June 14th.
He also mentioned that the tournament starts today with action for the Greco-Roman wrestlers, women's event will begin on Sunday 12; while Free Style contest will be a day later (Monday 13th).
On the possibility of international competitions prior to the Olympic Games, the official said that both Cuban squads will leave for Europe on June 16th to compete in the Open of Poland.
He added that on June 23 the Free style team will travel to Canada to attend a local Cup and make a small training base; while, on June 29 th, the Greco-Roman squad will move to Germany, which will host a Grand Prix.
Finally, he stated they all will travel to Rio de Janeiro Olympics on July 18th
