FIFA confirmed today the worldwide extension of the sanctions imposed on 23 Italian football players and officials for match manipulation and illegal betting worldwide, FIFA said in a statement. Several members of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) were banned for diffrent amount of time from holding any offices within the FIGC and participating in any kind of football events for violation of its Disciplinary Code.

FIFA added that on February 25, 2016, its Disciplinary Committee decided to extend the bans imposed on 23 Italian nationals worldwide under the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

In March 2015, FIFA extended the sanctions against 27 players from Estonia, Latvia, Sweden and the Czech Republic worldwide. Within the framework of these sanctions, the players have been banned from any football-related activities for match manipulation.
