From Television: Repentance
especiales

On the occasion of the short film that will premiere next Tuesday on Cubavisión Channel, we spoke with one of the co-directors, Charly García.
Repentance is a very suggestive title; however, is that really what the story is about?
"One might think the title suggests the premise, but the story is not about a character who repents, nor about the reasons for doing so. The plot tells us about a middle-aged man, Lucas Menéndez (Jorge Molina), who realizes it is too late to repent and repair the harm he caused throughout his life, especially to those he claimed to love."
So, what messages did you intend to convey through this story?
"The script, written by Juana Lourdes and Héctor Pérez T. Roy, allowed us to discuss the importance of family unity, tolerance, acceptance, and the supremacy of love over any kind of limiting belief."
Tell us about the cast that participated...
"The cast is made up of actors whom I admire and value personally. I had the opportunity to work again with Jorge Molina, Alfredo Felipe Pérez, and Yessie Guridi. They were joined by Lilaynen Morales, Mateo Menéndez, Jean Marcus Fraga, and Michel Alejandro, who is making his television debut."
This is your first time as a director. How do you feel about the finished product?
"It is my first time as a director, and I am grateful to Sergio Alexander for inviting me to work with him, as well as to the DX Producciones team for their support and trust. I consider the final work to be improvable but worthy. I feel satisfied with the outcome and with what we achieved as a team, despite the challenges of filming. I hope the audience received it well and, above all, that they identify with it. Perhaps we will succeed in making someone realize that there is still time to forgive and to value the feelings and people who are truly important in their life."
