Raúl Castro and Díaz-Canel sent floral offerings in popular tribute to Ronaldo Veitía

Havana, December 7 (RHC)-- Floral offerings sent on behalf of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel are part of the well-deserved popular tribute to professor Hilarión Ronaldo Veitía Valdivié, who died Monday at the age of 75.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, the highest authorities of the Cuban sports movement, sports glories, students of sports schools, relatives and friends attended the ceremony in the halls of the Sports City Coliseum in Havana.
Several of the disciples of the women's national team that he coached for 30 years came to pay their last respects to him, among them Sibelis Veranes, Olympic champion in Sydney 2000, and Idalis Ortiz, Olympic (1-2-1) and world (2-2-4) multiple medalist.
