President Nicolás Maduro affirmed that Venezuela is standing and ready to continue walking to its destiny in the 21st century, after the results of this Sunday's elections proclaiming him the winner were made public.

The ruler stated, in an event before hundreds of followers in front of the Miraflores Palace, headquarters of the Government, that this was the triumph of hope, of truth, which points the way laid by Commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013).

“This will allow us to persevere in the construction of an alternative country to savage capitalism and advance towards our socialism with Indo-American roots”, the president said, in this new mandate that the people gave him “I swear that I will give my entire life to carry out all the changes and transformations that the country needs, to move towards a destiny of peace, social happiness and rescue all the rights violated by the economic war”.

Maduro revealed that he received congratulatory calls from the leader of the Cuban Revolution Raúl Castro, from the presidents of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty, from the brothers of the Caribbean and beyond.

“The voice of peace triumphed and in Venezuela, we will see peace for our country,” he assured, and warned that they will not allow a spiral of violence, and called to “not let ourselves be dragged by the violence of fascism.”

The dignitary, who was elected with 51.20 percent of the votes for six years (2025-2031), declared that (the enemies of Venezuela) could not achieve their end using sanctions, attacks, and threats, nor could they deal with the dignity of the Venezuelan people, and reiterated the call for a harmonious, loving dialogue. “I want love, dialogue, and understanding and I have the power that you have given me and the civic-military-police union to promote economic, social, cultural, moral, spiritual dialogue,” he remarked.
