International Artistic Festival Kicks off in Central Cuba

The Folkdanza-2024 International Artistic Festival is underway with the participation of local and regional ensembles and artists in the centrally located Leoncio Vidal plaza of Santa Clara city, central Villa Clara province.

Ecuador’s Inti Raymi Folkloric Ballet, Mexican and Colombian dance companies plus local ensembles like the Nuestra America and the Codes companies are also participating at the event, according to artistic director William Jurajuria.

The executive also announced music workshops at the Latin American Cultural Promotion Center, as well as outstanding performances by percussionist Alexis Arce, Choir expert Yolanda Martinez, the Palabras Trio among other artists.

Several areas, communities and even hospitals along the Vidal plaza in Santa Clara will be scenarios for different activities on the artistic festival’s agenda, said Miriam Fleites, technical director with the municipal culture office.
