Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC) and Prime Minister of the Island, reaffirmed that human capital is the key to success in the tourism sector and urged to strengthen internal communication in a favorable working environment.

During a meeting with workers and executives of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), on the occasion of the celebration of the 4th of March, the Prime Minister emphasized unity in the face of the challenge imposed by the times and the strengthening of the political-ideological work in the context of external media aggressions.

Marrero Cruz stressed the importance of updating and preparing workers, ambassadors of the country to tourists, and confirmed that tourism is an important sector for generating foreign exchange and promoting the country's economic growth.
He also emphasized the strengthening of the socialist state enterprise and relations with other economic actors to promote the sustainable development of the sector, and highlighted the application of science and innovation in the search for solutions to adversities.

For Amado Acosta, deputy general manager of the Hotel Meliá Internacional Varadero, the main challenge today is the attention and preparation of human resources, and to continue working to offer tourists, both domestic and foreign, quality service in accordance with the characteristics of the Cuban people, such as friendliness and kindness.

The iconic hotel's director stated that the main goal is that every client visiting the hotel leaves with a positive experience and breaks down the barriers that the big promotion and publicity media spread against Cuba.

In the presence of Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, member of the Political Bureau and secretary general of the Cuban Workers' Federation, Judi Mercedes Rodriguez Hernandez, member of the CCPCC Secretariat and head of the service department, and other union and government officials, they recognized outstanding workers and labor collectives.

On March 4, the day of the hotel and tourism worker is celebrated in honor of Elpidio Sosa, fighter of July 26, martyr of the Moncada, worker who sold his place to give money to the revolutionary cause.
