Havana Puppet Festival Returns with International Lineup for All Audiences

Artists from Colombia, Mexico, and Cuba will take the stage during the 5th edition of the Habana Titiritera Festival, scheduled to take place from August 4 to 10 at various theaters and cultural venues across the Cuban capital.
Members of Teatro de la Proa, the organizing group, announced that 11 premieres will be staged across multiple locations, including their venue at the Carlos III Market, Adolfo Llauradó Theater, El Arca Puppet Museum and Theater, Casa de Cultura Joseito Fernández, La Madriguera, and Quinta de los Molinos.
The festival will also feature a theoretical forum at the Centro Habana Casa de Cultura from August 5 to 8. The sessions will be dedicated to the legacy of writer Dora Alonso and actor Armando Morales, two prominent figures in Cuban children's theater.
In its fifth edition, the Habana Titiritera Festival will present a total of 80 performances and will award the Timonel Prize to two individuals and one institution in recognition of their contributions to children's theater.
