In his address at the conference on the two-state solution, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva thanked Saudi Arabia and France for organizing the event and congratulated the countries that have recognized the Palestinian state. Lula emphasized that the UN General Assembly must assume an active role in the face of the Security Council's inaction, urging the international community to act regarding the crisis in Gaza.
Lula condemned the use of hunger as a weapon of war, stating that “nothing justifies the attacks against innocent civilians who are dying of hunger in Gaza.” He underscored that Palestine's right to self-determination must be guaranteed and that the current situation represents a serious challenge to human rights.
The Brazilian president also issued a call to action, highlighting that the lack of response to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unacceptable and that the right of the Palestinians to a sovereign state must be recognized.
