Guest Singers to Cuba San Remo Music Award Begin to Arrive in Havana

Havana, April 4 (ACN) Just few hours ahead of the opening of the San Remo Music Awards Cuba 2022, the event’s organizers announced part of the foreign guest singers who will join the festival April 5.-10 in this city capital.

Musicians from Italy, Spain, Mexico and others countries, are coming here in an action that reveals the cultural bonds between Cuba and their nations.

During a meeting with the press at Havana’s National Theater, host of the music contest, San Remo Music Awards operations director, Flabio Ferrari, said that the festival will be held because music, culture is stronger than anything else and because Italy and Cuba share bonds of friendship that no one can break.

Ferrari announced some of the guest musicians including Gatto Panceri, author of the song Vivo per lei (I live for her), which was made popular by Andrea Bocelli; and Spanish singer and announcer Pilar Boyero, among others.

Addressing the journalists, and Cuban singers attending the meeting, Boyero obviously moved said that she is in love with Cuba, with its music and its people. “This is home,” she said.

The public will enjoy the work of Italian musicians like Michele Pecora, Ricardo Cocciante, Rosella Zitiello, Sonia Mazza and Sara Scognamiglio; the three latter ones winner of previous contests.

Also here is Mexican artist Sami Castelini, winner of The Academy Talent Show and important composer of music for soap opera shows. Fashion designer Nino Lettieri from Italy is also in Cuba.

Meanwhile, the Cuban musicians to attend the event include Lachy Fortuna, Maria Victoria Rodriguez, Niurka Reyes, Yarima Blanco, Abel Gerones and Alejandro Falcon.

The jury of the song contest is made up of David Torrens, Waldo Mendoza, and Joaquin Betancourt, along with the specialized press.

Sixteen young Cuban talents will contest the festival accompanied by foreign and national singers.

Over the next hours other artists from the USA, Mexico will be arriving in Cuba to attend the San Remo Music Awards Festival.
