Dominican Ariana Rodríguez the Most Valuable Player of the U23 Women’s Pan Am Cup

Dominican setter Ariana Rodríguez was selected as the Most Valuable Player MVP of the sixth edition of the Women’s U23 Pan American Cup that concluded on Sunday at the Sonora Arena in Hermosillo, Mexico.
The MVP award was handed to Ariana Rodriguez after her team won the Championship match to Mexico 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-12, 26-24) and she scored the dramatic match point from the service line when the ball tipped over the net.
Ariana was also the Best Setter of the tournament. Other three awards were granted to the Dominican Republic, with Flormarie Heredia as the 2nd Best Spiker, Geraldine González as the 1st Best Blocker and the 2nd Best Blocker went to Florangel Terrero.
Mexican Sofía Maldonado received the recognitions for 1st Best Spiker and Top Scorer. Her teammate Ximena Cruz was awarded as the Best Service.
Pamela Cuya of Peru was the Best Libero and Best Defense. Also from Peru, María Paula Rodriguez, was distinguished as the Best Opposite.
From Argentina, libero Victoria Caballero was the Best Receiver of the event.
