In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez suggested that the U.S. State Department should explain to the American people how its attacks against Cuban medical services, on which the health of millions in dozens of countries depends, do credit to their country.

The message was issued hours after Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla denounced the suspension of visas for Cuban health professionals at the behest of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and described the measure as “the seventh unjustified attack against Cuba in one month".

According to the official, the suspension announced by Rubio is based on "lies and coercion" intended to stop health care services that benefit millions in and outside the country and, in passing, to benefit interest groups to which U.S. taxpayer funds are certainly available.

On February 25, Marco Rubio announced an extension of the policy of visa restrictions for people who "exploit Cuban labor".

Johanna Tablada, deputy director general of the U.S. division of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote another post on X that Rubio is lying without blushing to punish and take it out on a country which has never taken a measure against the United States.
