Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, on Friday congratulated Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya on his recent appointment to the post.

    

On X, the Cuban top diplomat expressed his willingness to continue strengthening the existing bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation.

Cuba and Japan established diplomatic relations on December 21, 1929, which were temporarily severed during World War II and resumed on November 21, 1952.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel recently reaffirmed the will to continue strengthening the friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries and congratulated Shigeru Ishiba over his election as Prime Minister of Japan.
