Cuban deputy prime minister awarded the August 23rd Distinction

Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Prime Minister of the Republic, awarded the August 23rd Distinction to Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman Waugh on Tuesday, in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).

The event took place at the Palace of the Revolution, the seat of government, "a place where the legacy of Vilma and Celia remains intact," the head of government posted on his X profile.

At the celebration, also presided over by Teresa Amarelle Boué, a member of the PCC Political Bureau and secretary general of the women's organization, six other women received the FMC's 65th Anniversary Commemorative Seal.

"Congratulations to all the women who, through their participation, make this work invincible!" Marrero Cruz added on the same social media platform.
