Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez expressed the need to protect the United Nations (UN), stating that the U.S. government currently poses a threat to its founding principles.
"We have the duty to protect and strengthen it. We must prevent its subordination to the capricious priorities and rules imposed by those who contribute the most funding," the head of Cuban diplomacy pointed out on his X profile, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the intergovernmental organization.
Founded in 1945, the UN facilitates cooperation in matters such as international law, international peace and security, economic and social development, humanitarian affairs, and human rights.
