Cuban beach volleyball pair Noslen Díaz-Jorge Luis Alayo officially qualified for Paris 2024 after their most recent performance in the Stare Jablonki Challenger held in Poland and the elimination of the pairs from Austria and Chile in the Elite 16 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The good news was confirmed today, when the Austrians and Chileans lost in the Czech tournament, as they were the only ones who could surpass the Cuban players, under the leadership of coach Francisco Alvarez Cutiño.

The Caribbean waited for the results in Ostrava ranking 17th, 7,800 points, a total that kept their dream of going to Paris 2024 alive.

Díaz-Alayo earned the silver medal in the Poland Challenger when they beat Czech pair Perusic-Schweiner 2-1.

Previously, in the Elite 16 Tournament held in Mexico, they won a historical bronze medal while losing in the round of 16 in Xiamen, China.

Francisco Alvarez Cutiño’s pupils earned, in addition, two silver medals and a fourth place in the Pro-Tour World Circuit Challenge in Recife and Saquarema, in Brazil, and Guadalajara Mexico.

They also won the silver medal in Varadero, Cuba, and silver and bronze medals in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
