Erdoğan and Putin Discuss Regional Crises in Phone Call

The President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a telephone conversation today with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, addressing topics on the bilateral agenda as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
According to a report from the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications, during the call, Erdoğan "reiterated his country's commitment to efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip" and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians affected by the military escalation.
Furthermore, the Turkish leader "emphasized the urgency of reactivating diplomatic initiatives" that would contribute to a peaceful and lasting resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, based on the principles of justice and regional stability. He underscored that Ankara "will continue to play an active role in the search for negotiated solutions."
In a gesture of courtesy, Erdoğan also congratulated Putin on his birthday, celebrated on October 7, and reaffirmed the personal ties between the two leaders, as well as their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation across various spheres.
