The Matanzas Crocodiles will attempt today to solidify their dominance in the 64th National Baseball Series when they host the Artemisa Hunters at the Victoria de Girón stadium, marking the start of the sixth particular subseries.

The Matanzas team, owners of the best defense in the championship and an impressive record of 20 victories against only 5 defeats, remains inspired and will look to increase their lead at the top against a rival that boasts the most airtight pitching in the tournament.

This series pits two squads that have made balance their forte: while Matanzas is sustained by "an impeccable defense (.985) and timely hitting," Artemisa shines from the mound, "with a corps of pitchers that averages 3.54 earned runs per game."

In other matchups of the day, Santiago de Cuba (16-7), second in the standings, will visit Camagüey (13-12), the leaders in collective offense, while Industriales (15-7) will try to impose its home-field advantage against Sancti Spíritus (14-11) at the Latinoamericano stadium.

The defending champions from Las Tunas (14-8) will face a complicated challenge in Holguín against the Cubs (15-9), and at the 5 de Septiembre stadium, Cienfuegos (10-13) will attempt to prolong its good form against Pinar del Río (10-14).

The schedule is completed by the clashes between Granma-Villa Clara, Ciego de Ávila–Guantánamo, and Mayabeque–Isla de la Juventud, in a day where every result could alter the standings.

The championship exhibits a collective offensive average of .286, a combined ERA of 5.15, and an overall fielding percentage of .970, numbers that confirm the dynamism of a Series which today has its epicenter "in the matchups between the eight teams located in the qualification zone."
