Cuba: workers decorated on the eve of May Day

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel presided over the ceremony to award the Honorary Title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba this Friday.
The Twitter account of the Presidency also informed that other awards were also given to workers with relevant labor merits.
In the ceremony, authorities specially recognized health and science personnel for their contribution to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Francisca Holder Ges, María Elvira Dávila Viamontes, Luís Paneque Rivas and Raúl Casero Castillo were acnowledged as Heroes of Labor.
Other recipients of that title were Iran Millán Cuétara, Modesto Samón Pérez, Martha Zoe Lemus Rodríguez, Agustín Lage Dávila, Eduardo Martínez Díaz, José Luis Fernández Yero, Luis Saturnino Herrera Martínez and Tania Crombet Ramos.
At the Cuban Workers Federation proposal, 56 health and civilian defense employees received the 'Lázaro Peña' Order of First Grade.
The awards ceremony was held on the occasion celebration Sunday of the International Workers' Day.
