Cuba has secured 53 places at the Olympic Games in Paris, which will open on July 26, after swimmers Andrea Becali and Rodolfo Falcón Jr. received invitations from World Aquatics to compete in the Olympics.

Becali, with time of 2:00.70 minutes in 200-meter freestyle, and Falcón, who has clocked 15:49.72 minutes in the 1,500 meters, earned 817 and 771 points, respectively, in the time table in relation to the world record in their specialties.

According to the rules of the swimming governing body, they meet the requirements of not exceeding 30 years of age and not having participated in two Olympic Games before without achieving the A mark required by the federation.

Their coach, Luisa María Mojarrieta, who will be present in her fifth Olympics, expressed her happiness in statements to the digital media Jit, where she noted that the invitations were well deserved due to the swimmers’ sacrifice and dedication for years to achieve their purpose.
