Havana, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Diego González, president of the Ibero-American Accessible Tourism Network, acknowledged Tuesday that Cuba projects its travel industry to facilitate stays for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

González, who is also the president of the Spanish Network of Accessible Tourism and an advisor to the Enjoy Travel Group, told Prensa Latina that Cuba has been facilitating such interests for six years.

The Cuban Ministry of Tourism and related organizations, including the Cuban Association for People with Physical and Motor Disabilities (ACLIFIM), the National Association of Deaf People (ANSOC), and the National Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ANCI), promote such projects.

González traveled to Cuba on June 29 as part of Enjoy Travel Group’s first direct flight from Barcelona, whose passengers will stay here for a week.

This group includes tour operators, travel agents, and other European and Spanish travel professionals (Barcelona-Havana route).

He emphasized the importance of this new flight to Havana, especially for tourists with disabilities or reduced mobility, as this market segment currently has great potential.

This route’s opening makes that many people with disabilities can reach Cuba directly without making a stopover in Madrid.
