Cuba to host 8th Latin American Black Literature Writers' Meeting Fantoches

The 8th Latin American Meeting of Writers of Black Literature Fantoches will be held in the Cuban central province of Villa Clara on September 10-12, 2024.
Lorenzo Lunar Cardedo, organizer of the event, told the Cuban News Agency that the event is dedicated to prison as a space and theme in crime literature, and will be attended by writers, artists and intellectuals from the province and abroad.
Among the artists, intellectuals and writers from the province who will be part of Fantoches are Amador Hernandez, Yeni Turiño, Yasmany Gonzalez, Marvelys Marrero, Otilio Carvajal, Rogelio Rosales, Osneidy Leon Bermudez, Manuel Martinez Casanova, Luis Machado Ordetx and, of course, Elizabeth Lunar and Rebeca Murga, he noted.
The Argentines Florencia Bullich, the most recent winner of the literary contest that until now was organized by the event (and that will be retaken in the future) and Kike Ferrari, who also won the contest, but in 2019, as well as the Dutch photographer Bert-René Brinkman and the narrator and poet Casper de Jong, will take part in the event, he added.
Music, cinema, plastic arts and literature are among the artistic manifestations that guests and the public will enjoy.
This event ratifies Santa Clara as the capital of noir literature in Cuba.
