China and IOC underscore Asian Winter Games’ success

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng held talks on Tuesday with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach on cooperation between the two parties and the recent success of the Asian Winter Games.
During a meeting held in this capital, the vice president expressed admiration for Bach’s contributions to strengthening ties between the IOC and China.
Han also stressed that President Xi Jinping acknowledges and assesses the work done by Bach and the IOC.
He mentioned the success of the latest Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, which he described as a high-level event that showed “Chinese characteristics, Asian style, and spectacular performances” in winter sports.
The vice president underscored that China has always prioritized the development of sports and active participation in international Olympic affairs.
He expressed China’s willingness to deepen cooperation with the IOC in several fields to promote the Olympic movement and contribute to world peace, unity, and progress.
Bach, in turn, congratulated China on the successful hosting of the Harbin Asian Winter Games and thanked the country for its continued support of the IOC.
