Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today thanked the initiative of the Progressive International (PI) and the statements of 83 political parties that call for excluding Cuba from the US list of States sponsoring terrorism.
In his X account, Rodríguez assured that the Caribbean nation is not alone and shared the letter published by the IP, which urges mobilization to end the long persecution that the island has suffered by the United States Government.
The text highlights that, throughout its revolutionary history, more than 605 thousand Cuban professionals and health technicians have provided their services in some 165 countries.
He also said that if Cuba sponsors anything it is peace, for its role in the agreements to bring it to Colombia and also for the liberation, for the epic of the internationalist forces of the largest of the Antilles in the liberation of Angola, Namibia and the elimination of apartheid in South Africa.
He recalled that the island has suffered for more than six decades from a blockade that, as expressed in the secret memorandum of April 1960 from the then Undersecretary of State Lester Mallory, was intended to drive the people to desperation with the aim of overthrowing your social project.
The Progressive International was created in 2013 in Vermont, United States, to achieve the establishment of a more democratic, decolonized, just, egalitarian, supportive, sustainable, ecological, peaceful, post-capitalist, prosperous and pluralistic world, according to its promoters.
