Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Wednesday ratified her position in favor of the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Our position is always the unity of Latin America and the Caribbean, it is the history of our country and we will always seek that unity,” the president said in response to a journalist’s question during her regular press conference.
The head of State recalled that Mexico is a commercial partner of the United States and there is a strong relationship with that nation, but she insisted on the idea that “the entire continent can be constituted as an economic power with respect to the sovereignty of each of the countries.
Our link with Latin America exists, is and will continue to exist, and it is also the wish of the people of Mexico and its government that it be so,” she stressed.
Sheinbaum also referred to coordination and communication particularly with the progressive presidents of the region, “where there is great identity, but also with all of Latin America.”
