Argentina, Brazil lead world basketball in Latin America

Mies, Switzerland, Dec 10 (Prensa Latina) The Argentinian and Brazilian basketball teams are at the Top Ten of men's world list and are leading today Latin America in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The Argentinean team that is fourth in the world list is leading the Latin American and Caribbean region, with 622.3 points, only surpassed in the Americas by the US team, the world leader with 781.4 points.

Meanwhile, Brazil closes the FIBA's top ten, with 591.9 points, due to its undefeated performance in Group B of the Americup 2022 qualifying rounds.

The US team is followed by the Spanish team (721.2 points.) and the Australian team (666.5 points), to complete the place of honor of men's international basketball.

The teams of Serbia (5th- 660.5 points), France (6th- 657.9 points), Greece (7th- 656.7 pts.), Lithuania (8th-633.4 pts.) and Russia (9th- 599.2 pts.) complete FIBA's top ten.

In Latin America, besides the Argentinian and Brazilian teams, the teams of Puerto Rico (18), the Dominican Republic (19), Venezuela (20), Canada(21), Mexico (24), Uruguay (43) and Panama (47) also stand out as they make up the world's best 50 national teams.

In lower positions are the Virgin Islands (51), Bahamas (59), Cuba (63), Colombia (67) and Chile (68), that is, FIBA's top 70.
