Julieta Venegas portrays violence in Mexico

Mexican singer Julieta Venegas has released a new album "Something happens" which expresses her sadness and concern over the violence in her country.

Venegas explained how the disappearance of 43 students last year in the state of Guerrero led her to write one of the songs titled “Explosion”.

Born in Tijuana, a town just on the Mexican side of the border with the United States, Venegas has previously addressed the wave of violence in Mexico with her 2006 album “Vuelve”.
