Maduro also condemned the decree that the U.S. Senate approved yesterday. It extends sanctions against the South American country to 2019.

Madura stated that while the imperial power is attempting, through excessive attacks, to regain political dominance and continue oppressing the Venezuelan people, they would, as a result of Bolivarian Revolution, move forward in peace and sovereignty, towards a more just and inclusive society .

"The White House plan is boosted by right-wing sectors, not only inside, but also outside Venezuela," Maduro said from the state of Monagas.

He added that the May Day rally would be another setting in which the people would show their will to defeat the unconventional warfare perpetrated by the opposition against social peace and happiness.

He also stated that from the very beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution, which started in 1999, Venezuela and its people have been targets of the attacks and aggression of the national and international right.
