The Venezuelan Government on Monday repeated its invitation to the United Nations high commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, to visit the country.

On its Twitter account, the Foreign Ministry said that with the visit, the official will be able to confirm 'the broad and historic efforts in favor of guaranteeing and promoting the human rights of Venezuelans.' The new invitation was made by the Venezuelan ambassador at the UN in Geneva, Jorge Valero, during a meeting with Bachelet.

The first invitation to the UN high commissioner to visit Venezuela was made on September 28 by President Nicolas Maduro, during his participation in the 73rd UN General Assembly.

On that occasion, at the end of a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Maduro said that 'the doors to our country are open, the High Commissioner of Human Rights is welcome in Venezuela whenever she wants to visit us.'

The repeated actions for economic destabilization promoted by the United States Government and its allies from the European Union and the region are used by the big media corporations to show the world an image of internal despair and thereby justify a military intervention.

In this regard, Venezuelan authorities have implemented the Recovery, Growth and Economic Prosperity Program since August 20, in addition to prioritizing social investments as the main element, using 70% of the national budget.
