Cuban runner Omara Durand broke the Paralympic Games record for the 100 flat meters Class T12, with a chrono of 11.58 seconds in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In the race to win the right to classify for the finals and break the record of 11.91 seconds, Durand a 25-year-old runner, used all the speed in her legs to win and break a record imposed by Chinese Guohua Zhou in London in 2012.

Guohua Zhou is still the world recordwoman, with 11.48 seconds, and she will be at the semifinals, since she classified with 12.17.

Guohua Zhou was the winner of the gold medal in 100 and 400 flat meters in 2012, and counts on five first places in World Championships.
