Vietnam's Defense Minister highlights exemplary ties with Cuba

Hanoi, Dec 6 (RHC) Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang today praised the exemplary ties between his country and Cuba when he received the head of the Political Directorate of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Major General Victor Rojo Ramos.

These ties were cultivated and developed by generations of leaders of both nations and despite the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been maintained and strengthened, which is reflected in the increased exchange of high-level delegations, he emphasized.

Van Giang also stressed that based on documents and agreements signed, the two sides maintain effective collaboration in many fields, especially in the defense industry, training, military medicine, partisan and political work.

The head of the Political Directorate of the FAR, stressed that relations in the field of defense between the two countries are a pillar and one of the models to be followed to deepen bilateral cooperation in other fields.

Cuba respects and always defends the ties with Vietnam and aims to further promote collaboration with this nation in all spheres, especially in defense, he said.

Major General Victor Rojo Ramos is on an official visit to Hanoi where he participated in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022. Ramos will conclude his visit tomorrow

The day before, the Cuban high-ranking officer was received by the head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Luong Cuong, who valued that the good relations between the two countries and their armies are an important factor that contributes to raising defense cooperation to a new height.

The Communist Party, the State, the people, and the People's Army have always supported Cuba to the maximum within their possibilities, stressed Cuong, who highlighted the importance of Rojo Ramos' presence here.

The high commanders exchanged assessments on the world situation, that of both countries and their armies, and agreed to continue intensifying collaboration in different areas, especially in the exchange of high-level delegations and experiences in political tasks and party building.

Major General Rojo Ramos also held a meeting with the Deputy Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Nguyen Tan Cuong. (Source: PL)
