Venezuelan president meets Iranian communications minister

Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, met with Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, Sayyid Sattar Hashemi, who is on a working visit to Venezuela to strengthen relations.
Maduro welcomed the Iranian minister at the Miraflores Palace, the seat of Government, accompanied by vice-president of Communications, Culture, and Tourism, Freddy Ñañez, and vice-president of Science, Technology, Education, and Health, Gabriela Jimenez.
They were joined by vice-president of Public Works and Services, Jorge Marquez, the president of the National Telephone Company of Venezuela (CANTV), Jesus Aldana, and Transport Minister Ramon Velasquez.
Sattar Hashemi is fulfilling a working agenda in Caracas that includes individual meetings with Ñañez and Jimenez, to promote and enhance cooperation in science, technology, and telecommunications.
During a meeting with Jimenez, the Iranian envoys discussed issues related to digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), the exchange of researchers, and the promotion of new technological projects.
