Science ministers of Cuba and Azerbaijan meet during COP29

Cuban Science, Technology, and Environment Minister Armando Rodriguez met with Azerbaijani Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev, as reported by Cuban Ambassador to Baku, Carlos Valdes.
The meeting took place during the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in the capital.
Valdes emphasized that the discussions strengthened the historic relations and current good ties between the two nations. Both ministers agreed to enhance collaboration in Science, Technology, and Innovation by fostering connections between research institutes and universities of both countries..
Amrullayev expressed interest in cooperating on high-performance sports, an area where Cuba has significant expertise and global achievements. Rodriguez is leading the Cuban delegation at COP29, which comprises officials and experts from the Cuban Science, Technology, and Environment Ministry (CITMA), Energy and Mines Ministry (MINEM), and Foreign Ministry (MINREX).
